American Society For Aesthetic Plastic Surgery’s First Female Board Member

American Society For Aesthetic Plastic Surgery’s First Female Board Member

The 2018 secretary for the executive committee American Society For Aesthetic Plastic Surgery(ASAPS) of Austin, Texas has finally been elected and it has made history for themselves. Dr. Jennifer Walden, MD, FACS has been put as the first female board member of ASAPS. On top of all of her already amazing achievements this woman never ceases to amaze us with what she does.

Born in Austin, Texas Dr. Walden obtained her MD from the University of Texas Medical Branch. Following that however she switched residency to Manhattan, New York and received a fellowship in aesthetic surgery at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. After that fellowship she remained at that hospital for 7 years before she returned to her home town where she opened her own practice at Westlake Hills.

Those aren’t her only achievements either. Aside from being the first female physician to be on the ASAPS board she has also done much more. She is founder of the fully accredited Walden Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center, she was named runner-up for Austin’s Woman of the Year, and is also a member of the Guardian Angel Society.

Now, if you are unfamiliar with ASAPS you won’t consider her achievement as great a deal. ASAPS is an organization that is entirely dedicated to plastic surgery. It has 2,6000 members worldwide and each member is a certified plastic surgeon. Now you can see why her being the first female appointed to the board of directors member is such a great deal. With as many members as the organization has, for her to be elected as the first secretary on the board is a incredible achievement.

Aesthetic plastic surgeon Jennifer Walden, MD, FACS has come far from where she began and is proving to be an amazing surgeon. Even recognized as Castle Connely’s Top Doctors in 2016 and 2017. Truely showing how amazing a doctor she is!
